What is the lesson cancellation policy?
Due to the freelance and peripatetic nature of my work, I operate a strict 24 hour cancellation policy. When cancelling or rearranging a lesson, 24 hours’ notice must be given otherwise the full lesson fee will be charged. Non-attendance will also be subject to the full fee.
What is the lateness policy?
If you are running late for your lesson, please endeavour to let me know as soon as possible. If contact is not made by, at the latest, 15 minutes after the agreed start time, students will be marked as a no-show and charged the full lesson fee.
Please note that if you arrive late, I may not be able to provide the full lesson length, but will charge for what was originally booked.
Where do lessons take place?
Lessons take place at Under the Bridge or Hobgoblin Music, both in Brighton. I can also travel to you if my schedule permits, and do send me a message if you have access requirements.
I am/my child is a beginner/returner/adult learner, will you take me/them on?
Yes, I teach all ages and abilities. I am fully DBS checked and have had safeguarding training. I also have experience in teaching autistic students and students with additional learning needs.
Do I have to have my own cello?
It helps, but in the meantime you are welcome to use my spare in lessons. I can advise as to where to rent or buy a cello when the time comes.
Can I take grades?
You can. I teach mainly to the ABRSM syllabus, but you can go with Trinity too.
Do I have to take grades?
No you don't. You can progress just as far without formal examination.
Will you play for me for free?
No.
